our work: the story
How it started
We began the prayer room in Muizenberg in 2017 during one of the most severe droughts in South Africa’s history, when Cape Town was counting down to “Day Zero.” In response, we called a 24 hour prayer gathering, asking God for rain. What followed was more than a single meeting. It sparked a grassroots movement.
How it Grew
worship nights began to fill the weeks.
In 2019 we launched our first school, welcoming 17 students into a 12 week lecture phase focused on growing in prayer and worship. Later that year we brought the school to Japan to help establish a prayer room just outside Tokyo.
As the school grew, we redesigned it around multiplication, with a focus on seeing prayer and worship surge wherever it goes. Japan became the first place we carried this vision beyond South Africa, equipping believers through seminars in Tokyo and Okinawa. The response confirmed what we sensed: this was becoming a global movement.
3 years later we have seen 35 prayer rooms established globally and we begin to multiply the school starting in Okinawa. Commissioned by YWAM Muizenberg we set off on the next phase of this adventure.
